Eric Calvario
At an early age, Eric developed a vast interest in the arts. At 10 years old, he MCed a youth triathlon televised on ESPN. In high school, he wrote/illustrated for the newspaper and organized a hip-hop dance performance at UCLA. In 1999, he danced as an extra for the motion picture "The Debut". In 2004, he was offered a grant to travel abroad with an art professor at UCI, and to this day, his charcoal artwork is currently displayed at UCI. Eric emerged in the collegiate dance scene as a DVD correspondent for Southern California's Vibe Dance Showcase from 2003-2007. Eric joined Kaba Modern from 2004-2007 and was the first recipient of the "KM Modern of the Year" award (2005). In 2005, Eric became coordinator for LTD's championship AGC dance team. In 2007, Eric joined the community outreach dance organization Culture Shock LA. He joined Kaba Modern Legacy in 2007 and is currently the Artistic director of Visual Arts. Alongside dance, Eric has done modeling for Kallusive Clothing, Fyasko, Ed Hardy, Mag13 along with other independent clothing lines. He graduated from UCI in 2004 with a BA in English and recently received his MA from USC in Occupational Therapy. He was awarded PUSOs Medical Mission scholarship (2005) to the Philippines, has traveled to Africa and Europe to medically assist children with developmental delays and/or disabilities and spent 2 years working for an obesity prevention program for children with spina bifida. In the past 10 years, Eric has participated in over 30 charity events (including Aids Walk LA for 6 years). His most recent credits include a dance performance on GMA TV and a TV interview from Kababayan LA on the LA-18 network.
