Yuri Tag

Born and raised in Irvine, CA, Yuri Tag has been dancing and performing since the age of 5. First training in ballet and jazz as a child, later she switched to competitive cheer in high school. Attending college at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), she was introduced to the world of collegiate competitive hip hop dancing. Amongst many other crews at UCI, Kaba Modern dance crew is where she initially discovered her passion for dance. Aside from Kaba Modern, she also trained with Bboys Anonymous and at Homeland Cultural Center. In 2007, Yuri graduated with a B.A. in Social Ecology and immersed herself in the fashion industry by working in fashion marketing, production, and design while continuing to dance with Kaba Modern.

Before long, she embarked on a journey along with five other representatives for Kaba Modern as finalists on the 1st season of the hit MTV show, America's Best Dance Crew. As a result, she has been traveling all over the world performing, teaching, judging, and sharing her passion for dance. She has also had the opportunity to further train in dance in Korea, with Culture Shock Los Angeles, at Debbie Reynolds, and at Millenium Dance Studio. Since MTV, Yuri has been involved with many facets of the entertainment industry (commercials, hosting, acting, modeling, and choreographing). Some of her credits include Nike, Twix, Flip Video, Shoeture, The Mikado Project, Hypnogaja, The Yuri and Taeko Show. Other than dance, she is also passionate about God, her family, mind-body disciplines, the environment, and community. In the future, she hopes to work more with the community and the youth not just through dance, but through overall mind-body wellness.
