Cynthia Kim

 

Cynthia Kim was born and raised in Orange County, Ca her entire life. Music had carried a strong influence from a very young age, as she was heavily influenced by a spectrum of artists ranging from Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Warren G, Snoop Dogg, and Nsync. She was a member of her school orchestra and played the cello for 7 years, from the 5th grade until her senior year at Valencia High School in Placentia, Ca. During that time, she also became heavily involved in the art of traditional Korean dance and performed with her troupe around Southern California at various cultural venues and events.

In the Fall of 2002, Cynthia began her studies at the University of California, Irvine, where she experienced her first taste of the collegiate hip hop dance scene. She joined Iconoclasm Dance Troupe in 2004, and continued to train at Jimmy Defore Dance in Costa Mesa, Ca. In 2006, Cynthia joined Kaba Modern under the direction of Jb Badanguio, Brian Mirador, and Cindy Minowa and was able to train alongside many of today's most legendary KM choreographers. She served as one of the three coordinators for the 2009 team and is currently the Finance Director for KM Legacy 2010.

Cynthia graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering- Premed from the Henry Samueli School of Engineering in 2007 and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Entertainment Business Strategy.
